Chicago Bears at Cleveland Browns 8/27/22 - NFL Preseason Picks & Predictions

The Chicago Bears visit FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday to play the Cleveland Browns in the final game of the NFL preseason for both teams. Chicago is 2-0 in the preseason after opening its schedule with a 19-14 win over the Kansas City Chiefs followed by a 27-11 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. Nathan Peterman passed for 84 yards in Chicago's win.

The Chicago defense gave up 324 yards of total offense to Seattle but forced one turnover and were able to keep the Seahawks from scoring a touchdown until just over two minutes remained in the game. Star quarterback Justin Fields threw seven passes but is expected to see more playing action on Saturday in Cleveland. Star linebacker Roquan Smith has returned to the team after demanding a trade earlier in the preseason.

The Cleveland Browns are 1-1 in the preseason after opening with a 24-13 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, followed by a 21-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Cleveland played most of the game against Philadelphia without its starters following joint practices on Thursday and Friday with the Eagles. Cleveland quarterback Josh Dobbs has passed for 249 yards and two touchdowns during the preseason.

Dobbs is the likely backup to Jacoby Brissett if Cleveland does not add another quarterback. Brissett will likely not see any action in the final preseason game as the Browns will not want their starting quarterback to be injured prior to covering for star Deshaun Watson, who has been suspended for the first 11 games of the regular season. Cleveland will play several of its starters on offense and defense in Saturday’s preseason final.
