The Carolina Panthers will be on the road in week 17 for a visit to New Orleans, LA to take on the New Orleans Saints. Carolina is struggling this season after starting the year 3-0 the Panthers come into week 17 with a 5-10 overall record riding a five game losing streak following a 17 point lost to the Baltimore Ravens. Offensively Carolina could do nothing against Baltimore posting only 189 total yards of offense to score three points and were shut out in the second half.
Carolina used a 3 quarterback set combining to complete 13 of 24 passes for 156 yards and no touchdowns. Chuba Hubbard was the leading ball carrier for Carolina with 24 yards on 9 carries. Terence Marshall Jr. led the way in the Carolina passing game with three receptions for 50 yards, while Shi Smith added 35 yards on two receptions.
The New Orleans Saints limp into week 17 one game under .500 on the year after losing three of their last five games played including a 20-3 lost to the Miami Dolphins last game out. The New Orleans offense was nonexistent against Miami totaling 164 yards in the game and only three points.
Quarterback Ian book got to start due to the COVID issues within the New Orleans organization completing 12 of 20 passes for 135 yards and no touchdowns but threw two interceptions in the game. Running back Alvin Kamara was the only spark within the New Orleans offense with 52 yards on 13 carries but failed to find the end zone. Lil’Jordan Humphrey led the way for the New Orleans receivers totaling 70 yards on three receptions.
