Carolina Panthers 2022-23 - NFL Schedule

The Carolina Panthers finished last in the NFC South and 2021-22 with an overall record of 5-12. Carolina was 2-4 in division play, 2-6 at home and 3-6 on the road. The Panthers scored an average of 17.9 points per game which was 29th in the NFL and allowed an average of 23.8 points per game which was 21st. Carolina's offense generated 108.5 yards per game rushing which was 20th and 190.5 yards passing which was 29th.

Sam Darnold returns at quarterback for Carolina and last season passed for 2,527 yards with nine touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Running back Christian McCaffrey is expected to be 100% healthy at the start of the season after last year rushing for only 442 yards with one touchdown in seven games. Chubba Hubbard was the leading rusher last season for Carolina with 612 yards and five touchdowns. DJ Moore was the leading receiver last season with 93 receptions for 1,157 yards and four touchdowns.

Carolina will play a 4-3 defense and has a pair of strong defensive ends in Brian Burns and Yetur Gross-Matos. The interior line will be led by starting tackles Matt Ioannidis and Derrick Brown. The three starting linebackers will be Damien Wilson in the middle flanked by Shaq Thompson and Cory Littleton. Carolina’s starting safeties are expected to be Jerry Chinn and Xavier Woods, while Dante Jackson and Jaycee Horn will start at cornerback.
