The two highest-scoring teams in the NFL meet in Week 6 when the Buffalo Bills travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs. K.C. leads the league with 31.8 points scored a game, just ahead of Buffalo’s 30.4. Both teams are 4-1 straight up this season. Against the spread, Buffalo is 3-1-1 and Kansas City is 2-3. Since 2020, The Chiefs are 3-1 against the Bills, but this will be the first time Buffalo is favored against K.C. in the Josh Allen era.
The last time these two teams met was in the divisional round of the playoffs last season. The Chiefs won a thriller, 42-36, in overtime. However, the Bills never got the ball in the extra period because the Chiefs scored a touchdown in the first possession. The uproar over how the back-and-forth game ended led to the overtime rule changes implemented this season.
Kansas City is coming off a 30-29 win at home against Las Vegas on Monday night. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes connected with tight end Travis Kelce for four touchdowns. Mahomes completed 29-of-43 passes for 292 yards. Kelce got all the touchdowns, but Marquez Valdes-Scantling led the team with 90 receiving yards by catching 6-of-8 targets. Kelce led the team with seven receptions but had just 25 yards. Jerick McKinnon was the leading rusher with eight carries for 53 yards.
The Bills had a much easier go of it than the Chiefs in Week 5, beating Pittsburgh 38-3. Allen threw four touchdown passes, all in the first half. The first two TDs were bombs of 98 and 68 yards to wide receiver Gabe Davis. Allen completed 20-of-31 passes for 424 yards on the day. Davis had three catches total for 171 yards. Stefon Diggs and Kahlil Shakir also caught scoring passes from Allen. Digg’s 11 targets and eight receptions were tops on the team, and he had 102 yards. Shakir caught 3-of-5 targets for 75 yards. Allen and running back Devin Singletary each had 42 rushing yards.

Kansas City and Buffalo are similar in that their offenses can put a lot of points on the board in a hurry. The biggest difference between he two teams is that the Bills don’t give up many points. They are allowing just 12.2 points a game, tied for first in the league with San Francisco. The Chiefs have given up an average of 25 points a game, which ranks 23rd in the league.
