Buccaneers at Dolphins 8/9/18 - NFL Preseason Picks & Predictions

In Thursday night NFL preseason football action, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will head south to take on the Miami Dolphins. The Buccaneers finished last in a very talented NFC South Division with a 5-11 record a season ago. Tampa Bay as able to move the ball, ranking 9th in total offense but ranked 18th in scoring offense at 20.9 points per contest.

Fourth year signal caller Jameis Winston will be forced to sit out the first three games of th 2018 season for a violation of the NFL’s conduct policy. Winston has the talent to lead the Buccaneers to the playoffs, but his immaturity has held him back. Mike Evans is one of the best wide receivers in the game and has gone over the 1,000 yard receiving mark in four straight season. The Miami Dolphins are coming off a disappointing 6-10 season, but have a lot to look forward to coming into this year. Third year head coach Adam Gase took the Dolphins to the playoff in his first year on the job and has gotten rid of players who did not fit his system. Miami will be looking to improve on an offense that ranked 25th in total yards and 28th in scoring.

Miami QB Ryan Tannehill missed all of last year with a knee injury, but was 8-5 as a starter in 2016. The Dolphins choose not to move up to draft a quarterback and are confident in Tannehill’s ability. The Dolphins traded talented wide receiver Jarvis Landry to Cleveland and are hoping that big-play wideout DeVante Parker can flourish.
