Bills at Ravens 9/9/18 - NFL Picks & Predictions

The Bills looked shaky in the preseason and sadly do not look like they made any strides from the team they were last season. One good thing is the Bills did bounce back from a horrible start in the 4th game of the preseason to beat the Bears 28-27.

The Bills did find AJ McCarron who could be a great offensive threat for the Bills as he does have some decent weapons around him. However, he is just holding the spot warm for Josh Allen to get ready and then McCarron could be dropping back to the backup role that he has been known to occupy in Cincinnati.

With the Bills they are planning on using a base 4-3 to start the season off. This could easily be a great thing when playing a strong rushing team like the Ravens. Julian Stanford could have his hands full at the middle linebacking position in this game. Stanford is in his 5th year, but has yet to show a lot of potential on the year. Stanford pulled down 69 tackles with 51 being solo and 18 being assist. With the Ravens they were able to complete a winning preseason as the Ravens went 5-0. Not to mention the extra game the Ravens were able to play in manage to give the Ravens a chance to evaluate a lot of the talent they never would have been able to get to see in the games.

The Ravens have been able to see Joe Flacco get quite a bit of rest in the preseason as Lamar Jackson ruled the day for the Ravens in most of the preseason games. Last season Flacco had an offseason as he only managed to get 3141 yards in the air and managed to get 18 touchdowns, but he did throw 13 picks.

With the Ravens they are still going to maintain a 3-4 on the season defensively. The man who will hold down the base for the Ravens is Michael Pierce who is in the nose tackle position. It is easy to see why as he comes in at 340 pounds and will be hard to move around. Last season Pierce was able to get 32 solo tackles, 17 assist, and a sack in the game.

The Ravens are going to have Flacco playing strong at the quarterback position and the Ravens will have a great defense as well. The Bills on the other hand are still trying to find an identity that seemed to be missing in the preseason. The lack of offensive production for the Bills will be an issue as they struggled against a much weaker Bears defense in the final preseason game. Final Score Prediction, Baltimore Ravens win and cover ATS 21-7.
