Bengals at Falcons 9/30/18 - NFL Picks & Predictions

The Mercedes-Benz Stadium will play host to a Sunday afternoon showdown between the Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons. The Bengals won each of their first two games by a 34-23 margin, but stumbled last weekend during a 31-21 loss at Carolina. Cincinnati outgained Carolina by a 396-277 margin, but QB Andy Dalton threw four interceptions. Tyler Boyd caught six passes for 132 yards and a touchdown in a losing effort for the Bengals.

Through three games, Cincinnati ranks in the middle of the pack in total offense and is scoring 29.7 points per contest. Atlanta has been decimated by injuries on defense, ranking 28th in yards allowed and surrendering 28.3 points per game. The Atlanta Falcons are two years removed from their Super Bowl collapse and look to be trending in the wrong direction. The Falcons defeated Carolina at home in week two, but failed to keep the momentum going during Sunday’s 43-37 overtime loss versus New Orleans. Matt Ryan threw for 374 yards and five touchdowns, but the Atlanta defense was shredded for 534 yards.

For the season, Atlanta ranks 11th in total offense and averages 26.7 points per game. Cincinnati counters with a defense that ranks sixth worst in yards allowed and gives up 25.7 points per game.

There is a possibility that Cincinnati RB Joe Mixon (knee) could return for this matchup, but WR A.J. Green (groin) is uncertain if he will be able to play. Both offenses can put points up in a hurry, while the defenses have been struggling. Atlanta has too many injuries on defense to lay this many points, so the over is the play. Final Score Prediction, Atlanta Falcons win high scoring game 32-27.
