Paul Brown Stadium will play host to a Thursday night preseason matchup between the Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals. The Bears have suffered through four straight losing season and hired new head coach Matt Nagy to replace John Fox. He will be given the task of revitalizing a franchise that lost seven of their last nine games to finish the 2017 campaign.

Nagy’s success will likely be tied to the development of second year quarterback Mitch Trubisky. The number two overall pick, Trubisky, threw for seven touchdowns and seven interceptions in 12 starts a season ago. Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel were brought in during the offseason to give Trubisky the weapons he needs to succeed.
The Cincinnati Bengals suffered through a nine-loss season in 2017, but decided to bring back head coach Marvin Lewis for a 16th season at the helm. The Bengals are hoping that stability in coaching and at many key positions can help them replicate the success that saw them reach the playoffs five times already this decade.

Andy Dalton enters his eighth season as the starting quarterback for the Bengals and must produce at a higher level for this team to get back to the postseason. A.J. Green is one of the most dynamic wide receivers in the game and has plenty of rapport with Dalton. Second year RB Joe Mixon will be counted on to be a workhorse.

The Bears have a new coaching staff and will be looking to make a splash in their second preseason game. The Bengals have plenty of experience and will be looking to keep everyone healthy in their preseason debut. Take Chicago to win outright as a small road underdog. Final Score Prediction, Chicago Bears win outright as underdog 20-16.
