In Monday night football action, the Baltimore Ravens will invade Allegiant Stadium to take on the Las Vegas Raiders. The Ravens went 11-5 during the 2020 regular season and managed just three points during a disappointing playoff loss at Buffalo. Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson rushed for over 1,000 yards for the second consecutive season, but still has work to do as a passer. TE Mark Andrews caught 58 passes for 701 yards and seven scores.
Baltimore finished seventh in total defense and only the Los Angeles Rams allowed fewer points. The Ravens are loaded in the secondary with cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey, Marcus Peters, and Jimmy Smith.
The Las Vegas Raiders finished 2020 with an 8-8 record and will be playing in front of their fans for the first time during the regular season. RB Josh Jacobs rushed for over 1,000 yards and scored 12 touchdowns, but will be working behind an offensive line that lost three starters. TE Darren Waller caught 107 passes for 1,196 yards and nine touchdowns a season ago.
Las Vegas ranked in the bottom third of the league in total defense and surrendered a shade below 30 points on average. The Raiders signed DE Yannick Ngakoue, who has recorded at least eight sacks in each of his first five NFL seasons.
