Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers 9/13/20 - NFL Picks, Odds, & Predictions

The 49ers are going to look to make it back to the playoffs. However, the 49ers have to get a strong start to the year and that could happen here against the Cardinals. Granted, Arizona is not that bad of a team, but the 49ers have so much talent on the roster and a great threat on the defensive side of the ball that it will be hard to see the Cardinals offense getting going really good at all.

The Cardinals were looking a little rough on the defensive side of the ball. To address that issue the Cardinals turned to the draft. The big pick the Cardinals made was Isaiah Simmons out of Clemson to help shore up the linebacker spot for the team. Then in the later rounds the Cardinals picked up some interior defensive line help from Leki Fotu and Rashard Lawrence. When it comes to the offensive side of the ball the Cardinals picked up DeAndre Hopkins from the Texans.

San Francisco for the most part was solid last year, but did need some interior defensive line help which was addressed by the 49ers. The first round of the draft saw San Francisco pick up Javon Kinlaw in the first round to help the defensive line with the pick. One key loss that San Francisco may have had that could impact the offense is Emmanuel Sanders left the 49ers for the Saints.

When it comes to the quarterback battle it will actually be a fairly good battle. The Cardinals have Murray on the roster to lead the Cardinals, but the 49ers have Jimmy Garoppolo to lead the team. The experience that Garoppolo gained in New England and as a 49er player is definitely going to make the difference in the game here as the quarterback edge goes to the 49ers.
