2022 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Odds - NFL

As the 2022 season prepares to start the young talent on the defensive side of the ball will shine this season. Several big time athletes sit at the top of the Defensive Rookie of the Year award following a defensive loaded NFL draft in 2022.

Aidan Hutchinson (+500)

Aidan Hutchinson was taken as the #2 overall pick and rightfully so with the size and talent he has coming into the NFL. Hutchinson is a big bodied pass rusher and will make an instant impact up front for Detroit. Hutchinson relies on a vast arsenal of moves and a nonstop motor to make impacts in games. Hutchinson will be on the filed as a starter in week 1 looking to make an impact for his team as he begins his quest as the best defensive rookie in the league.

Kayvon Thibodeaux (+550)

Thibodeaux is perhaps in the best spot and scheme of any rookie in the NFL giving him a real shot to emerge as the Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2022. Thibodeaux is a strong edge rusher that will give most NFL tackles problems  starting in week 1 of the season. Add in the fact that the Giants blitz well over half the time and Thibodeaux is likely to see his number skyrocket. If the Giants can find any real success this season their rookie edge rusher will be a reason why giving him a huge shot at the Rookie of the Year.

Travon Walker (+700)

Despite being the #1 overall pick in the draft Travon Walker is the 3rd highest favorite to win the Rookie of the Year. The main reason Walker has fallen is due to a position change in the league. Walker was an edge rusher in college and is being moved outside linebacker in Jacksonville. Walker still possesses all the tools to be an elite defender in the NFL and depending on how fast he can adjust to the new spot will determine his overall chances to be the top rookie this season.

Kyle Hamilton (+800)

Kyle Hamilton is not the prototype NFL safety due to his size and skill set. Hamilton is built more like a linebacker than that of a safety but his speed and ball hawking skills have him as a safety. The Ravens will use Hamilton in a variety of ways this year in coverage as well as in blitzes. Hamilton will find himself making plays more often than not in the pass game as well as a run stopper. If Hamilton can put together a strong year and a few of the guys above him falter Hamilton could be the first safety to ever win the ROY.
