2020 NFL Draft - Number 4 Pick Betting Odds, Preview, & Predictions

The New York Giants will have the No. 4 overall pick in the NFL draft on April 23rd after finishing the 2019 regular season in third place in the NFC East with a record of 4-12. The Giants have plenty of options with the 4th pick overall but the decision to improve the offensive line to protect second-year quarterback Daniel Jones will be balanced against the need for strengthening the defense by drafting an impact player with their selection.

If the Giants decide to beef up Jones' protection they could choose from several offensive lineman including Jedrick Wills Jr. from Alabama, Tristan Wirfs from Iowa, Mekhi Becton from Louisville or Andrew Thomas out of Georgia. All four have been linked to the Giants and with any luck New York has an opportunity to draft at least one further down in the selection process if they opt for a defensive player with their first pick.

The Giants could select an impact player on defense, with their No. 4 picks, such as linebacker Isaiah Simmons out of Clemson, as both defensive end Chase Young and cornerback Jeff Okuhah will not likely fall to the No. 4 spot making Simmons the best remaining defensive player on the board when the Giants pick fourth.

The New York Giants could also surprise many and draft a top wide receiver to give Jones another target downfield. New York has been linked to wide receiver Jerry Jeudy out of Alabama. Jeudy won the Fred Biletnikoff award during his time with the Crimson Tide and has been projected to be drafted during the first round but not as high as fourth overall. However, the wide out would give the Giants a true deep threat to go along with outstanding running back Saquon Barkley.

The New York Giants with the No. 4 pick overall will choose Isaiah Simmons to beef up their defense. Last season the New York Giants finished 25th overall on defense allowing an average of 375.4 yards per game to their opponents, while the offense finished 23rd overall with an average of 338.5 yards per game. However, the offense should improve as Saquon Barkley is healthy to start the regular season, making it more important to improve the defense. The addition of Simmons to the Giants defense helps both against the run and the pass.
