2020 NFL Draft - First Wide Receiver Drafted Odds & Betting Predictions

The 2020 NFL Draft is almost here and it will be one that is packed with a lot of great picks. However, the one position player that needs to be properly filled for a lot of teams behind the quarterback position is the wide receiver. The position is one that has to be able to catch the ball, but also to run after getting the catch completed. So who will be the first receiver taken in the 2020 NFL Draft? Here are the top 5 candidates for that title.

CeeDee Lamb is coming out for the draft after his junior year. Lamb comes from Oklahoma and with a 6’2” frame and only 198 pounds definitely has the One factor that could hold Lamb back is he is only running at a 4.5 in the 40 and cannot really stretch the field.

Jerry Jeudy is coming out of Alabama after his junior year as well. Jeudy comes from Alabama and as if that was not impressive, Jeudy is 6’1” and 193 pounds, so he has the size as well. When it comes to stretching the field Jeudy has the chance to do that with blistering 4.45 speed in the 40.

The next prospect is another Alabama product in Henry Ruggs III. Ruggs is a little short for a starting receiver at 5’11” and is only 188 pounds. Just like most of the top wide outs, Ruggs, is coming out after his junior year. What is really impressive is how Ruggs is able to outrun the coverage with his 4.27 speed that blisters down the field.

With the next product it is Tee Higgins who comes from Clemson. Higgins is coming out at a height of 6’4” and 216 pound. Both of those are great factors that will help Higgins out quite a bit. Higgins did not get a chance to run the 40 yard dash, but a lot of teams will enjoy the 6’4” size to out jump the corners in the corner of the end zone.

Justin Jefferson comes out after his junior year at LSU. Jefferson is coming out at a 6’1” 202 pound frame. Jefferson is one player that has some weight on him, but that will help on the crossing routes in the NFL. However, the weight did not stop Justin Jefferson from running a 4.43 in the 40-yard dash.

Out of the top 5 prospects in the NFL Draft for the wide out position it is jam packed. However, the one that we see going first in the drat will be Tee Higgins. Yes, Higgins is not listed on the top of a lot of charts, but for us Higgins has the size that the NFL looks for. Not to mention at 6’4” the ability to leap over the corners definitely makes it easy to see he is the better NFL prospect.
