2020 NFL Draft - First Offensive Tackle Drafted Odds, Picks, & Betting Predictions

The offensive line is one of the biggest positions in the NFL. However, the offensive tackle position is also highly underrated. Now, the NFL Draft is coming up soon and it will have quite a bit of talent at the offensive tackle position. The problem is with so much talent on the boards for the tackle position which one of the great players will be taken first?

Jedrick Wills is one of the standout offensive tackles coming out in the draft this year. Wills comes from the famed and highly vaunted Alabama line. Wills is more along the average size for tackles with his size being at 6’4” 312 pounds. However, Wills is a great run blocker and could become a great starting tackle.

Tristan Wirfs is coming out of Iowa as a junior for the draft. Wirfs is coming in at only 6’5” and 320 pounds, which is decent height. However, Wirfs has the added benefit of having potential to play in the guard position. Wirfs is great on his feet in getting the foot movement to speed out to block the ends, but also to keep his feet going to help protect the quarterback.

Mekhi Becton is coming out of Louisville, which is not really well known for producing great linemen. However, Becton is a physical specimen that should rank highly and needs just a little bit of polishing. Becton comes in at 6’7” and 364 pounds. The downside is Becton needs some major polishing on his pass blocking, but his run blocking has the opponent blown off the line.

Andrew Thomas is coming into the draft here as a junior. Thomas is coming out of Georgia who has produced quite a few great linemen in the past. Thomas is coming out at 6’5”and 315 pounds. Thomas has been a 3 year starter in Georgia as well and was the winner of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy for the best lineman in the ultra competitive SEC.

Josh Jones is the only senior that is rated in the top 5 for the offensive tackles in the draft. Jones is coming into the draft with a 6’5” frame and 311 pounds on the frame. Jones is coming out of the Houston program where he started 45 games total. The downside is Jones needs some polishing up on his techniques, but Jones should be a high draft pick based off of his athleticism.

Now, the NFL Draft is going to see quite a bit of movement, but a team always needs a good presence at offensive tackle. The draft has quite a few juniors coming out early this year, but as far as good prospects.  With that being said, the best offensive tackle in the draft is coming out of Georgia and that is Andrew Thomas. Look for Thomas to be the first tackle taken in the draft based off of his well rounded skill set, but also great blocking. First Offensive Tackle Drafted, Andrew Thomas.
