2020 New England Patriots Preview - NFL Picks & Predictions

The New England Patriots are one team that will need to have a lot of help to look anywhere near the level the team did last season. The Patriots lost a lot of their offensive power with the loss of Brady and the lack of reliable and experienced replacement. With that being the case, here is the Patriots preview to see how the team does.

Jarrett Stidham is the projected starter at quarterback for the Patriots. Stidham last season only had 4 passing attempts with 2 completions and even then only managed to get 14 yards.  What makes it worse is he was picked off once. The Patriots are bringing back Julian Edelman and Sony Michel for the team and that could help them out some, but even then the Patriots will be challenged offensively.

Defensively the Patriots do look like a team that could play decent on the year and that could really help them out. However, the Patriots are also coming into the year with a defense that relied somewhat heavily on the offense to bail them out of problems. That safety net is removed for the most part and that could definitely spell disaster in New England.

The special teams for the Patriots do not look that bad. In fact, the Patriots may see Rohrwasser getting more of a workout this season than normal and that could definitely make it a challenge for the Patriots. Look for him to come into the season as one of the more important players on the Patriots roster, even without getting the traditional amount of playing time.
