The Washington Wizards continue their trek through the west on Friday with a visit to the Staples Center to play the Los Angeles Lakers. The Wizards improved to 6-10 following a 140-132 shootout victory over the Phoenix Suns. Bradley Beal led the Wizards with 35 points while Thomas Bryant scored 23. The Wizards defense came up big late in the game to hold off the Suns.

Bradley Beal leads Washington in scoring and assists with averages of 28.9 points and 7.1 assists per game. Thomas Bryant is the second leading scorer and the leading rebounder for the Wizards with averages of 14.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Six members of the Wizards are averaging double figures in scoring.

Los Angeles improved to an NBA-leading 16-2 with a 114-110 victory on Wednesday over the New Orleans Pelicans. The Lakers have won nine straight and were led in the victory over the Pelicans by Anthony Davis, who scored 41 points against his former teammates even while being relentlessly booed by the New Orleans fans. Davis also intercepted a late inbounds pass to seal the win.

Anthony Davis is leading in scoring and in rebounds with averages of 26.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. LeBron James is the second leading scorer and the leader in assists with averages of 25.8 points and 11.0 assists per game. Kyle Kuzma, with an average of 12.3 points per game, is the only other Lakers player averaging double-figures in scoring.

While the OVER is a solid choice, the Wizards are the play. Washington has covered the number in 9 of its last 13 on the road and in 16 of its last 22 versus an opponent from the Western Conference. The Lakers are 16-2 straight up but face big spreads to cover as the favorite. Los Angeles has failed to cover 4 of its last 5 overall. Final Score Prediction, Los Angeles Lakers win but fall short ATS 116-112.
