Washington Wizards vs Brooklyn Nets 8/2/20 - NBA Picks & Predictions

Last Updated: 08/01/2020 at 11:12 PM ET

The Sunday NBA schedule will tip-off with a matchup between the Washington Wizards and the Brooklyn Nets from Walt Disney World Resort. The Wizards (24-41) trail the Nets by six games in the race for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and are playing without leading scorer Bradley Beal. On Friday, Washington trailed by 15 points at halftime of a 125-112 loss versus Phoenix.

Rookie F Rui Hachimura tallied a team-high 21 points on 8-for-15 shooting and pulled down eight boards. Ish Smith added 17 points and seven assists in 27 minutes off the Washington bench.

The Brooklyn Nets are five games below .500 overall and have little chance of making any noise during the NBA restart. The Nets are playing without Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, Spencer Dinwiddie, and DeAndre Jordan. On Friday, Brooklyn was outscored by 18 points during the third quarter of a 128-118 loss against Orlando.

Timothy Luwawu-Cabarrot matched a game-high with 24 points in 22 minutes off the Brooklyn bench. Caris LeVert added 17 points and seven assists in a losing effort for the Nets.

Washington F Davis Bertans (personal) has opted out of the restart and will be a free agent in the offseason. Both teams are missing several key players, so it is difficult to find value in a side. Take the over. Final Score Prediction, Brooklyn Nets win and cover ATS 124-122.
