The Golden State Warriors will attempt to sweep the Cleveland Cavaliers when they meet on Friday night for Game Four of the NBA Finals. The defending champion Warriors are looking to secure their third title in the last four years. On Wednesday, Kevin Durant poured in a career playoff high 43 points during a 110-102 Golden State road triumph over Cleveland. Durant drained a long dagger three-pointer in the final minute and is in the driver’s seat to capture his second straight Finals MVP.
The Warriors trailed by six points at halftime and outscored the Cavaliers by a 58-44 margin in the second half. Golden State assisted 27 of their 42 made field goals and shot 52 percent from the field.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have in many ways overachieved to reach the NBA Finals, but are clearly overmatched against this Golden State squad. In Game Three, the Cavaliers jumped out to a 16-4 lead and led by as many as 13 points in the second quarter but could never deliver the knockout blow. Cleveland dominated Golden State on the glass by a 56-41 margin. The Cavaliers missed 22 of their 31 three-point attempts and shot 44 percent overall.
LeBron James tallied a team high 33 points to go along with 11 assists and 10 rebounds. Kevin Love added 20 points and 13 rebounds in a losing effort for the Cavaliers.
