The Jazz (41-24) have won seven of their last ten games and trail Golden State by 2.5 games for third place in the West. On Wednesday, Utah raced out to an 18-point lead after one quarter and cruised to a 123-85 home victory versus Portland.
Utah F Bojan Bogdanovic tallied a game-high 27 points on a 9-for-14 shooting performance. All-Star G Donovan Mitchell chipped in 16 points and six assists for the Jazz.
The San Antonio Spurs have dropped 20 of their 32 home games and trail New Orleans by two full games for tenth place in the West. On Wednesday, Gregg Popovich’s bid to become the winningest coach of all-time was spoiled during a 119-104 home loss versus Toronto. The Spurs (25-41) were outrebounded by a 47-36 margin and missed 23 of 32 from long range.
Olympic gold medalist Keldon Johnson led all scorers with 27 points on 10-for-19 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds. All-Star G Dejounte Murray added 25 points and 12 assists for the Spurs.
