Two Team Parlay for Today - Friday 9/18/20

Friday's two-game mixed parlay features the opening game of the NBA Western Conference Finals between the underdog Denver Nuggets and favored Los Angeles Lakers combined with a matchup between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox in what is one of the biggest rivalries in all of sports and oftentimes won/loss records can be thrown out the window when these two meet.

Denver Nuggets vs Los Angeles Lakers: LAL +7; Total 212

The Denver Nuggets eliminated the LA Clippers in six games in their NBA Western Conference semifinals series. The Nuggets trailed 2-1 in the series before rattling off three consecutive victories to eliminate the Clippers. Denver has used both excellent defense at one end of the court and balanced scoring from Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic at the other end to reach this point in the postseason. The Lakers lost the opening game of their conference semifinals against the Houston Rockets but made an adjustment that changed the course of the series. Los Angeles decided to use Anthony Davis and Markieff Morris on the court at the same time and eliminate a true center and that smaller lineup was able to match up better with the Rockets. LeBron James and Davis continue to lead the Lakers and in Game 1 the Lakers will win but fail to cover the number as the Nuggets have covered the number and 19 of the last 28 head-to-head encounters with the Lakers.

New York Yankees vs Boston Red Sox: NYY -220 ; O/U 9

The New York Yankees are back pressuring the Tampa Bay Rays at the top of the American League East after winning seven straight and cutting the lead of Tampa Bay from 6 ½ games to just three over the past week and a half. The Yankees have won two straight over Toronto through Wednesday by a combined score of 33-8. With the two victories, New York is back in the second place supplanting the Blue Jays. Boston's woes continue as the Red Sox sit in last place in the American League East and own the worst team ERA in all of baseball at 6.05. The Yankees could not have met the Red Sox at a more opportune time as Boston has the worst team ERA and the Yankees have scored a combined 33 runs in the last two games. Look for a high scoring Yankees victory on Friday.
