The Phoenix Suns will play the second half of a back-to-back on Friday when they visit the Denver Nuggets. The Suns host the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday before heading to Mile High City. Phoenix lost its fifth straight on Tuesday falling to the Minnesota Timberwolves 118-91. Suns high scorer Devin Booker was ejected along with Minnesota’s Gorgui Dieng due to an on-court altercation.
Denver had a two-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday following a 114-108 loss to the Utah Jazz. The Nuggets were led by Nikola Jokic with 18 points, 21 rebounds as well as six assists. Will Barton scored 22 points and grabbed nine boards for Denver. The Nuggets shot a respectable 48% from the field in the loss.
Devin Booker is leading the Suns in scoring and assists with averages of 24.2 points and 6.9 assists per game, while Deandre Ayton is the third leading scorer and leading rebounder with averages of 16.4 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. As a team, Phoenix is shooting 45.7% from the field and 33.4% from three-point territory.
Nikola Jokic is the leading scorer, rebounder and leads in assists with averages of 19.8 points, 10.3 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game. Jamal Murray is the second leading scorer with an average of 18.6 points per game. As a team, Denver is shooting 46.9% from the field and 35.7% from 3-point territory.
