Storm at Mystics 9/12/18 - WNBA Finals Picks & Predictions

On Wednesday, the Seattle Storm will visit the Washington Mystics for Game 3 of the WNBA best of five Finals series. The Storm holds a 2-0 lead in the series after winning Games 1 and 2 on their home court. Seattle went to Breanna Stewart early and often and Stewart did not disappoint scoring 25 points. Sue Bird made a big play on defense during the final 10 seconds of the game to hold off the Mystics. Seattle can win it third WNBA title with a win on Wednesday.

Washington high scorer Elena Delle Donne scored 17 points, but did not score in the fourth quarter while taking only one shot. Kristi Toliver hit two jumpers late to bring the Mystics to within one point with 20 seconds remaining and when Stewart missed two free throws Washington had possession with 16 seconds and could have taken the lead, but Bird stole the ball from Toliver and Seattle hit one of two free throws for the margin of victory. After seven games of the playoffs, Breanna Stewart leads the Storm in scoring and second in rebounding with averages of 23.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Natasha Howard is the second leading scorer and leading rebounder with averages of 13.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Sue Bird leads Seattle in assists with an average of 6.4 per game. Seattle scored an average of 87.3 points per game during the regular season.

After eight games of the postseason, Elena Delle Donne leads the Mystics in scoring and rebounding averaging 19.1 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. Two other players, led by Ariel Atkins (16.0 ppg) are scoring in double figures for the Mystics. Natasha Cloud and Kristi Toliver lead the team in assists with averages of 4.4 per game each. Washington scored an average of 84.6 points per game during the regular season.

Seattle has played well on the road as evidenced by its 10-3 ATS record over its last 13 and Washington has not found an answer to stop Breanna Stewart down low. The Mystics forgot about Delle Donne during the all-important fourth quarter as she attempted just one shot and scored her last points late in the third quarter. Seattle wins on the road and takes home the WNBA title. Final Score Prediction, Seattle Storm win outright as underdog but grab the points just in case 81-76.
