Last Updated: 08/20/2019 at 10:40 AM ET

The Seattle Storm continues its East Coast trip with a visit to the nation’s capital on Wednesday for a showdown with the Washington Mystics. The Storm won their second straight with an 84-69 victory over the New York Liberty on Sunday. Alysha Clark led the Storm with 21 points. Seattle trails first place Los Angeles and Las Vegas by two games in the Western Conference.

Washington won its third straight after defeating the Minnesota Lynx 101-78 on Sunday. Emma Meesseman led the Mystics with 25 points, while Elena Delle Donne scored 23 and pulled down 10 boards. Washington owns a one game lead in the Eastern Conference over second place Connecticut.
Natasha Howard leads the Storm in scoring and rebounding with averages of 18.4 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, while Jewell Loyd is second in scoring with an average of 13.0 per game. Jordin Canada is leading the Storm in assists with an average of 5.0 per game. Just three players are averaging double-figures in scoring for Seattle.

Elena Della Donne is the leading scorer and rebounder for the Mystics with averages of 19.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Kristi Toliver is the leader in assists with an average 6.0 per game and the second leading scorer with an average of 13.0 points per game. In all, four players are averaging double-figures in scoring for the Mystics while a fifth is averaging 9.9 per game.

Both teams are riding winning streaks, but the advantage here goes to Washington playing at home, while Seattle will be playing its second straight road game on the East Coast. Nevertheless, the Storm will keep it close enough to cover. Seattle has covered the number in 12 of its last 16 when playing on 2 days rest. Final Score Prediction, Washington Mystics win but fail to cover ATS 83-82.
