The Seattle Storm look for a third consecutive victory Tuesday when they visit the Las Vegas Aces. The Storm defeated the Indiana Fever on Sunday 65-61 in a hard-fought defensive battle. Jewell Loyd led the Storm with 21 points and hit the basket to put Seattle ahead for good with just over 24 seconds remaining. Seattle leads the Western Conference at 7-4 by one game over Las Vegas.

Las Vegas won its third game in the last four with an 86-68 win at home on Saturday against the Dallas Wings. Dearica Hamby led the Aces in the win with 27 points, while A’ja Wilson scored 20 points and pulled down eight boards and Liz Cambage added 11 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Las Vegas outshot Dallas from the field 53.0% to 28.6%.
Natasha Howard leads the Storm in scoring and rebounding with averages of 19.4 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, while Jewell Loyd is second in scoring with an average of 17.0 per game. Jordin Canada is leading the Storm in assists with an average of 5.3 per game. Just two players are averaging double-figures in scoring for Seattle.

A’ja Wilson is the leading scorer and leading rebounder for Las Vegas with averages of 15.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Kayla McBride is second in scoring with an average of 15.6 points per game. Jackie Young leads the Aces in assists with an average of 3.8 per game. Liz Cambage is the third leading scorer with an average of 14.4 points per game.

This is a matchup between the first and second place teams in the Western Conference. The Storm lead the Aces by one game in the West, but Las Vegas is meshing as a unit with Liz Cambage and A’ja Wilson creating a very strong force in the paint and the results have been three wins in the last four played.
