In the first game of a Friday night NBA on ESPN doubleheader, the San Antonio Spurs will visit the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Spurs have won seven of their last ten games and have moved into sixth place in the West. On Wednesday, San Antonio erased a 19-point first half deficit to score a 105-101 road victory at Dallas. The Spurs connected on 13-for-30 from the three-point line and shot 49 percent overall.

Marco Belinelli led six San Antonio players in double figures with 17 points in 24 minutes off the bench. DeMar DeRozan chipped in 14 points and nine assists for the Spurs. The Minnesota Timberwolves have won 15 of their 22 home games so far this season and are currently three games out of playoff contention in the Western Conference. Last time out, Minnesota faced former teammate Jimmy Butler during an ugly 149-107 road loss at Philadelphia. The Timberwolves surrendered 83 points in the first half and allowed the 76ers to shoot 60 percent from the field.

Derrick Rose tallied a team high 15 points and four assists in 22 minutes off the Minnesota bench. Dario Saric added 11 points and five rebounds in a losing effort for the Timberwolves.

Minnesota G/F Robert Covington told reporters that he does not have a timetable to return from his ankle injury. The Spurs rank fourth in the league in offensive efficiency and neither team defends at a high level. Take the over on Friday.
