Spurs at Suns 12/14/19 - NBA Picks & Predictions

The Saturday NBA schedule will tip-off with a matinee between the San Antonio Spurs and the Phoenix Suns from Mexico City. The Spurs have lost 15 of their first 24 games and trail Phoenix by two full games for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. On Thursday, San Antonio was unable to protect a six-point lead with three minutes remaining during a 117-109 overtime loss versus Cleveland.

DeMar DeRozan led five San Antonio players in double figures with 21 points on 8-for-17 from the field. LaMarcus Aldridge added 18 points and ten rebounds for the Spurs.

The Phoenix Suns are playing without suspended C DeAndre Ayton and are currently two games below .500 overall. On Wednesday, Phoenix surrendered 64 points during the second half of a 115-108 home loss versus Memphis. The Suns were outrebounded by a 55-44 margin and shot just 40 percent from the field in defeat.

Phoenix F Frank Kaminsky tallied a team high 24 points on a 9-for-12 shooting performance. Ricky Rubio added 22 points and eight assists in a losing effort for the Suns.

Phoenix G Devin Booker (forearm contusion) did not practice on Friday and is listed as questionable for this matchup. These two teams rank in the bottom half of the league in defensive efficiency, so the over is worth a look. The stronger play is on Phoenix to win and cover. Final Score Prediction, Phoenix Suns win and cover ATS 115-108.
