On Friday, the San Antonio Spurs head to Mile High City to play the Denver Nuggets in the second half of a home-and-home. The two teams met on Wednesday San Antonio winning 111-103. DeMar DeRozan led the Spurs with 30 points, while LaMarcus Aldridge chipped in with 27 points. The Spurs are now within percentage points of first place in the Southwest division.
The loss was Denver’s second straight. Denver remains in first place in the Northwest with a half-game lead over Oklahoma City. At home the Nuggets are 13-3 but on the road just 8-8. Three Denver starters – Paul Millsap, Will Barton and Gary Harris did not play and all three are listed as out indefinitely for Denver.
DeMar DeRozan leads the Spurs in scoring and assists with averages of 23.3 points and 6.2 assists per game. The second leading scorer and leading rebounder is LaMarcus Aldridge with averages of 18.9 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. San Antonio is shooting 47.5% from the field and 40.0% from 3-point territory.
Nikola Jokic is the leading scorer, rebounder and leas in assists with averages of 17.7 points, 9.8 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game. Jamal Murray is the second leading scorer with an average of 17.4 points per game. As a team, Denver is shooting 46.1% from the field and 34.7% from 3-point territory.
