The Los Angeles Sparks head to Sin City on Saturday looking for their second straight victory when they play the Las Vegas Aces. The Sparks moved into first place on Thursday after defeating the Indiana Fever 87-83. Chelsea Gray scored 30 points tying a franchise record by sinking seven 3-pointers. Los Angeles leads the Aces by a half-game in the West.

Las Vegas lost its third straight after falling to the Indiana Fever on Tuesday night 86-71. A’ja Wilson led the Aces with 18 points but hit just 7 of 16 field goals attempts. The Aces were outrebounded by Indiana 44-37. The Aces have signed Epiphanny Prince for the remainder of this season. The Aces needed a veteran guard with experience in the postseason.

Nneka Ogwumike leads the Sparks in scoring and rebounding with averages of 16.6 points and 9.1 rebound per game. Chelsea Gray is the second leading scorer and leader in assists with averages of 14.7 points and 5.8 assists per game. Four players are averaging double figures in scoring for the Sparks.

Liz Cambage is leading in scoring and rebounding with averages of 16.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game for the Aces. A’ja Wilson is the second leading scorer and second leading rebounder for Las Vegas with averages of 16.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. Jackie Young leads the Aces in assists with an average of 4.4 per game.

Las Vegas needs this victory at home to leapfrog the Sparks into first place in the West. The Aces however, will find it difficult to cover the nut against a vastly improved Sparks’ squad. Los Angeles has covered 4 of the last 5 versus Las Vegas and 7 of the last 10 versus an opponent with a winning record straight up. Final Score Prediction, Las Vegas Aces win but fall short ATS 83-82.
