The Chicago Sky (3-4) go on the road Sunday to play the Los Angeles Sparks (4-2) in a WNBA showdown.
Chicago lost its fourth game in its last five on Friday falling to the Phoenix Mercury 96-79. The Sky trailed 49-35 at the half and could not recover. Gabby Williams led Chicago with a team high 26 points in the loss.
On Thursday, the Sparks were routed at home by Seattle 88-63. The Storm led 24-9 after one quarter and turned it on in the second half outscoring the Sparks by 11 in the third quarter to coast to a win. Nneka Ogwumike led the Sparks in the loss with 19 points. Candace Parker was held to just six points. Stefanie Dolson is out indefinitely for the Sky.
Allie Quigley leads the Sky in scoring averaging 17.2 points per game. Diamond Deshields is the second leading scoring with an average of 13.9 points per game. Cheyenne Parker is averaging 10.4 points per game and a team high 6.9 rebounds per game. Courtney Vandersloot is the third leading scorer and leader in assists averaging 13.3 points and 7.3 assists per game.
Nneka Ogwumike leads the Sparks in scoring and rebounding averaging 18.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Chelsea Gray is the second leading scorer and leader in assists with averages of 16. 2 points and 6.2 assists per game. Two other players average double figures in scoring led by the 15.0 points per game by Odyssey Sims.
