Sky at Mercury 8/25/19 - WNBA Picks & Predictions

The Chicago Sky look for their third straight victory on Sunday when they visit the desert southwest to play the Phoenix Mercury. The Sky defeated the Washington Mystics on Friday 85-78 for their second straight win and moved the Sky to within three games of first place in the Eastern Conference. Phoenix is coming off an 84-79 loss to the Las Vegas Aces. The Mercury dropped to 13-14 on the season with the loss. DeWanna Bonner led the Mercury in the loss with 24 points. The Mercury were outrebounded in the loss by Las Vegas 50-39 and shot just 23.3% from three-point territory. 

Diamond DeShields leads the Sky in scoring with an average of 15.6 points per game. Jantel Lavender is out injured; therefore DeShields with an average of 5.7 per game leads the Sky in rebounding. Courtney Vandersloot is the leader in assists with an average of 8.9 per game. Four players are averaging double-figures in scoring for the Sky. 

Brittney Griner is the leading scorer and second in rebounding for Phoenix with averages of 19.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. DeWanna Bonner is second in scoring and leading in rebounding with averages of 19.0 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Leilani Mitchell leads in assists with an average of 4.1 per game.
