The Target Center will play host to a rematch between the Portland Trail Blazers and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Trail Blazers (25-38) have lost four straight games and have fallen two games behind New Orleans for tenth place in the West. On Saturday, Portland turned the ball over 16 times during a 135-121 road loss against Minnesota.
Portland G Anfernee Simons poured in a game-high 38 points on 11-for-25 from the field. Trendon Watford added 12 points and 14 rebounds off the bench for the Trail Blazers.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are riding a four-game winning streak and trail Denver by two full games for sixth place in the West. During Saturday’s home victory, Minnesota outscored Portland 72-57 in the second half. The Timberwolves (36-29) knocked down 15-for-37 from long distance and shot a sizzling 57 percent overall.
All five Minnesota starters scored in double figures and were led by All-Star C Karl-Anthony Towns with 36 points. D’Angelo Russell contributed 14 points and 15 assists for the Timberwolves.
