The Saturday NBA schedule will tip-off with a matinee between the Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Clippers from Staples Center.
The Pistons have lost four games in a row and are two games back of Charlotte for the final playoff spot in the East. On Thursday, Detroit trailed by 13 points after one quarter and never seriously challenged during a 112-102 loss at Sacramento. The Pistons were dominated on the glass by a 57-40 margin and shot just 43 percent from the field.
Stanley Johnson tallied a team high 16 points in 23 minutes off the Detroit bench. Andre Drummond added 12 points and 11 rebounds in a losing effort for the Pistons.
The Los Angeles Clippers are no longer Lob City, but have been playing extremely hard for veteran head coach Doc Rivers. On Thursday, Los Angeles was outscored by 12 points in the first quarter and never regained the lead during a 121-100 loss at Denver. The Clippers were outrebounded by a 59-50 margin and allowed the Nuggets to shoot 51 percent from the field.
Lou Williams led four Los Angeles players in double figures with 19 points and five assists. Tobias Harris added 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Clippers in defeat.
