Western Conference foes will square off on Tuesday night, when the Phoenix Suns visit the New Orleans Pelicans. The Suns (28-8) have won 12 of their first 16 road games and trail Golden State by a half-game for the best overall record in the league. On Sunday, Phoenix built a 26-point halftime lead and coasted to a 133-99 road triumph against Charlotte.
All-Star G Devin Booker led all scorers with 24 points on 9-for-19 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds. Jalen Smith contributed a career-high 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Suns.
The New Orleans Pelicans have dropped 10 of their first 17 home games and own the second worst overall record in the Western Conference. Last night, New Orleans kept things close for a half before falling at home versus Utah by a 115-104 final score. The Pelicans (13-24) missed 34 of their 46 three-point attempts and shot just 40 percent overall.
All five New Orleans starters scored in double figures and were led by Jonas Valanciunas with 25 points. Josh Hart added 15 points and nine rebounds in a losing effort for the Pelicans.
