Philadelphia 76ers at Miami Heat 5/4/22 - NBA Picks & Predictions

Last Updated: 05/03/2022 at 8:25 PM ET

In the first game of a Wednesday NBA on TNT playoff doubleheader, the Philadelphia 76ers will battle the Miami Heat from Ftx Arena. The fourth-seeded 76ers (51-31) were an Eastern Conference best 13 games above .500 on the road and won twice on the road during their six-game series against Toronto. On Monday, Philadelphia missed 28 of their 34 attempts from the three-point line during a 106-92 road loss.

Philadelphia F Tobias Harris tallied a game-high 27 points on 11-for-18 shooting and pulled down six boards. James Harden added 16 points, nine rebounds, and five assists for the 76ers.

The Miami Heat finished the regular season with an Eastern Conference best 29 home victories and ranked fifth in the league in defensive efficiency. In the series opener, Miami outscored Philadelphia 56-41 during the second half. The top-seeded Heat (53-29) outrebounded the 76ers by a 47-37 margin and converted 17-for-18 from the free-throw line.

Tyler Herro led five Miami players in double figures with 25 points and seven assists in 29 minutes off the bench. Bam Adebayo contributed 24 points and 12 rebounds for the Heat.

All-Star C Joel Embiid (eye) will remain sidelined for this game and hopes to return when the series shifts to Philadelphia. The 76ers wore down in the second half last time out, but I expect a more focused effort in Game Two. Take the points. Final Score Prediction, Miami Heat win 105-102.
