Philadelphia 76ers at Miami Heat 5/2/22 - NBA Picks & Predictions

In the first game of a Monday NBA on TNT playoff doubleheader, the Philadelphia 76ers will travel to South Beach to take on the Miami Heat. The fourth-seeded 76ers (51-31) were an Eastern Conference best 13 games above .500 on the road and won twice on the road during their six-game series against Toronto. On Thursday, Philadelphia outscored Toronto by 34 points during the second half of a 132-97 road triumph.

All-Star C Joel Embiid led all scorers with 33 points and ten rebounds before leaving the game late in the fourth quarter with an orbital fracture. Tyrese Maxey added 25 points and eight assists for the 76ers.

The Miami Heat finished the regular season with an Eastern Conference best 29 home victories and needed five games to dispose of the Atlanta Hawks. On Tuesday, Miami built a 12-point halftime lead and held on down the stretch for a 97-94 home victory. The Heat (53-29) forced 19 turnovers and limited the Hawks to 42 percent shooting.

Victor Oladipo led five Miami players in double figures with 23 points on 8-for-16 from the field. Bam Adebayo contributed 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Heat.

Philadelphia C Joel Embiid (eye) and Miami G Kyle Lowry (hamstring) will not suit up for the series opener. With Embiid sidelined, we expect the pace of the game to be faster and we like Miami to win a game that goes over the total. Final Score Prediction, Miami Heat win 112-105.
