Pelicans at Timberwolves 3/8/20 - NBA Picks & Predictions

The Target Center will play host to a Sunday afternoon NBA clash between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Pelicans (27-36) have split their previous ten games and trail Memphis by four games in the race for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. On Friday, New Orleans built a 14-point halftime lead and held on for a 110-104 home victory versus Miami.

Jrue Holiday led five New Orleans players in double figures with 20 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Josh Hart contributed 19 points and 12 rebounds in 28 minutes off the bench for the Pelicans.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have a bright future thanks to the pairing of G D’Angelo Russell and C Karl-Anthony Towns. On Friday, Minnesota allowed Orlando to shoot 61 percent from the field during a 132-118 home loss. The Timberwolves (19-43) were outrebounded by a 53-44 margin and missed 27 of their 37 long distance attempts.

Minnesota G Malik Beasley tallied a game-high 29 points on 14-for-21 shooting in just 28 minutes of action. Jordan McLaughlin added 14 points and nine assists off the bench for the Timberwolves.

Minnesota C Karl-Anthony Towns suffered a fractured left wrist and will be re-evaluated in two weeks. These two squads rank in the bottom half of the league in defensive efficiency and play at a fast tempo. Look for New Orleans to win and cover in a high-scoring affair. Final Score Prediction, New Orleans Pelicans win and cover ATS 130-119.
