The New Orleans Pelicans look to snap a three-game losing streak on Tuesday when they visit the Houston Rockets. The Pelicans were defeated by the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday 126-114.New Orleans was without four key players – Anthony Davis, Nikola Mirotic, Julius Randle and E’Twaun Moore. Jrue Holiday led the Pelicans in the loss with 29 points.
Houston won its third straight game on Sunday defeating the Orlando Magic 103-98. The Rockets were led by James Harden with 40 points including five key points late in the game when Houston rallied to defeat the Magic. Houston is in first place in the Southwest division at 29-20.
Anthony Davis is leading the Pelicans in scoring, rebounding and blocks with averages of 29.3 points, 13.3 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game. Jrue Holiday is leading the team in assists with an average of 8.1 per game. New Orleans is shooting 48.1% from the field and 35.3% from three-point territory.
James Harden leads the Rockets in scoring and assists with averages of 36.3 points and 8.2 assists per game. Clint Capela is the leading rebounder with an average of 12.6 per game, but is out injured. Kenneth Faried is averaging 9.5 rebounds per game. As a team, Houston is shooting 44.5% from the field and 34.5% from 3-point territory.
