Orlando Magic at Dallas Mavericks 10/7/22 - NBA Picks & Predictions
In Friday night NBA preseason action, the Orlando Magic will travel to American Airlines Center to take on the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks are coming in after a comeback win against the Thunder. The Mavericks played their first game without star Luka Doncic. Also out for Dallas with injuries were Tim Hardaway Jr, JaVale McGee, Maxi Kleber and Davis Bertens.
Coming off the bench big for Dallas was Christian Wood with 16 points, 13 rebounds and 1 assist and rookie Jaden Hardy with 21 points leading the Mavericks to a comeback win.
After a bad 22-60 season for the Orlando Magic, they come into this season hoping to find their way. The Magic are off to a bad start though, with guard Markelle Fultz suffering a fractured left big toe and being ruled out for training camp.
Fultz wasn’t the only backcourt player in the Magic’s rotation to go down. Gary Harris is also tending to an injury with a torn meniscus. Cole Anthony will take on starting duties until Fultz is able to return. The Magic have a long road ahead of them, but the Magic have the talent to contend for a potential playoff spot if Orlando can get back to a healthy lineup.
Friday nights matchup will be a good test for Orlando against a playoff caliber team in the Mavericks. Though we think the Magic will keep up for most of the game, the Mavericks pull out the win at home. With the better stars from the Mavericks matching up against a weakened and injured Magic team it is easy to see Dallas dominating in the game.
