Nuggets at Rockets 1/7/19 - NBA Picks & Predictions

Two of the top teams in the Western Conference will collide on Monday night, when the Denver Nuggets visit the Houston Rockets.

The Nuggets have won five straight games and sit atop the conference standings as we near the halfway point of the season. On Saturday, Denver picked up their tenth straight victory at home by a 123-110 final score versus Charlotte. The Nuggets connected on 14-for-39 from long range and forced 17 turnovers on the evening.

Denver C Nikola Jokic poured in a game high 39 points to go along with 12 rebounds and six assists. The rest of the Nuggets’ starters combined for just 28 points on 11-for-28 from the field. The Houston Rockets have won 13 of their 18 home games and are led by reigning MVP James Harden (33.7 ppg). On Saturday, Houston was outscored by 13 points during the second quarter and never regained the lead during a 110-101 road loss at Portland. The Rockets were outrebounded by a 59-44 margin and shot 46 percent from the field in defeat.

James Harden tallied a game high 38 points on an inefficient 13-for-35 shooting performance and dished out seven assists. Clint Capela added 13 points and 21 rebounds for the Rockets.

Houston G Eric Gordon (knee) was unable to play on Saturday and is listed as doubtful for this matchup. These two teams rank in the top ten in the league in offensive efficiency, so the over is worth a look. The stronger play is on Houston to bounce back with a home victory on Monday. Final Score Prediction, Houston Rockets win and cover ATS 112-105.
