In Friday night NBA action, the New York Knicks will travel to the Amway Center to battle the Orlando Magic. The Knicks overachieved in Tom Thibodeau’s first year at the helm, but were bounced in the first round of the playoffs. On Wednesday, New York needed two overtimes to come through with a 138-134 home victory versus Boston.

All-Star F Julius Randle poured in a team-high 35 points to go along with nine assists and eight rebounds. Evan Fournier made a successful New York debut with 32 points on 13-for-25 shooting.

The Orlando Magic lost 51 of their 72 games a season ago and finished second worst in offensive efficiency. Former head coach Steve Clifford has moved on and the Magic hired rookie head coach Jamahl Mosley to lead the rebuilding effort. On Wednesday, Orlando was outscored in each quarter of a 123-97 road loss against San Antonio.

All five Orlando starters scored in double figures and were led by Mo Bamba with 18 points. Rookie G Jalen Suggs struggled with ten points on an ugly 3-for-14 shooting performance.
