The Sunday NBA schedule will tip-off with a matinee between the New York Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets from the Barclays Center. The Knicks (28-39) have dropped seven of their previous ten games and are running out of time to make a postseason push. On Friday, New York was outscored by 13 points during the fourth quarter of a 118-114 road loss against Memphis.
All five New York starters scored in double figures and were led by Julius Randle with 36 points. R.J. Barrett added 23 points and seven rebounds for the Knicks.
The Brooklyn Nets have won consecutive games and trail Toronto by 2.5 games for seventh place in the East. On Thursday, Brooklyn raced out to a 17-point lead after one quarter and never looked back during a 129-100 road triumph against Philadelphia. The Nets (34-33) knocked down 18-for-40 from long range and shot a sizzling 56 percent overall.
All-Star F Kevin Durant led Brooklyn with 25 points to go along with 14 rebounds and seven assists. Kyrie Irving chipped in 22 points and five assists for the Nets.
