In the first game of an NBA on TNT doubleheader, the New Orleans Pelicans will invade FedEx Forum to face the Memphis Grizzlies. The Pelicans (27-37) are eight games below .500 on the road and hold a 1.5 game lead over Portland for tenth place in the West. On Sunday, New Orleans was outscored by 18 points during the fourth quarter and overtime period of a 138-130 road loss against Denver.
New Orleans F Brandon Ingram tallied a team-high 38 points on 12-for-24 shooting and dished out nine assists. C.J. McCollum added 24 points and nine assists for the Pelicans.
The Memphis Grizzlies have won 22 of their 32 home games and are locked in a tie with Golden State for second place in the West. On Sunday, Memphis was outscored by 21 points during the second half of a 123-112 road loss against lowly Houston. The Grizzlies (44-22) missed 21 of their 26 three-point attempts and allowed the Rockets to shoot 52 percent from the field.
Desmond Bane led Memphis with 28 points on an 11-for-22 shooting performance. Steven Adams added 23 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists in a losing effort for the Grizzlies.
