Southwest Division rivals will clash on Wednesday night, when the New Orleans Pelicans invade the American Airlines Center to face the Dallas Mavericks. The Pelicans (31-38) have dropped 21 of their 34 road games and trail San Antonio by 2.5 games for tenth place in the West. On Monday, New Orleans was unable to make the plays down the stretch of a 115-110 road loss against Memphis.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker led seven New Orleans players in double figures with 18 points and six assists. Willy Hernangomez added 15 points and eight rebounds for the Pelicans.

The Dallas Mavericks have won seven of their last ten games and lead the Los Angeles Lakers by 1.5 games for sixth place in the West. Last night, Dallas was outscored by 26 points during the second half of a 133-104 road loss against Memphis. The Mavericks (40-29) missed 26 of their 38 three-point attempts and shot 42 percent overall.

Dallas G Tim Hardaway Jr. tallied a team-high 19 points on 6-for-11 shooting and pulled down five boards. Willie Cauley-Stein added 16 points and eight rebounds in a losing effort for the Mavericks.
