The Pelicans (30-41) outrebounded the Hawks by a 54-40 margin and shot 45 percent from the field.
New Orleans C Jonas Valanciunas tallied a team-high 26 points on 10-for-16 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds. C.J. McCollum contributed 25 points and eight assists for the Pelicans.
The Charlotte Hornets are riding a four-game winning streak and trail Brooklyn by one full game for eighth place in the East. On Saturday, Charlotte outscored Dallas by 13 points during the third quarter to pull away for a 129-108 home victory. The Hornets (36-35) connected 20-for-42 from the three-point line and shot 50 percent overall.
Miles Bridges led seven Charlotte players in double figures with 23 points and eight rebounds. Kelly Oubre Jr. chipped in 17 points and six rebounds off the bench for the Hornets.
