The Friday NBA schedule will tip-off with a matchup between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Charlotte Hornets from the Spectrum Center. The Pelicans (1-0) have a healthy Zion Williamson and are a dark horse contender in the Western Conference. On Wednesday, New Orleans raced out to an 18-point lead after one quarter and cruised to a 130-108 road triumph against Brooklyn.
Brandon Ingram led five New Orleans players in double figures with 28 points and seven rebounds. Zion Williamson contributed 25 points and nine rebounds for the Pelicans.
The Charlotte Hornets enter the 2022-2023 season with a new head coach and will be playing wiithout Miles Bridges, who has been suspended for domestic violence. On Wednesday, Charlotte built a 16-point lead after one quarter and never looked back during a 129-102 road victory against San Antonio. The Hornets (1-0) knocked down 13-for-29 from the three-point line and shot 51 percent overall.
All five Charlotte starters scored in double figures and were led by Terry Rozier with 24 points. Nick Richards added 19 points and ten rebounds off the bench for the Hornets.
