The Pelicans (36-46) made the playoffs for rookie head coach Willie Green and will have a healthy Zion Williamson this season. On Friday, New Orleans raced out to a 16-point lead after one quarter en route to a 120-111 home victory versus Atlanta.

Brandon Ingram led six New Orleans players in double figures with 19 points on 7-for-11 from the field. Jonas Valanciunas contributed 16 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists for the Pelicans.

The Brooklyn Nets failed to live up to expectations last season and were swept by Boston in the first round of the playoffs. In their preseason finale, Brooklyn built a 16-point halftime lead and cruised to a 112-102 road victory against Minnesota. The Nets (44-38) knocked down 14-for-35 from the three-point line and led by as many as 20 points.
