State Farm Arena will play host to a Sunday evening NBA clash between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Atlanta Hawks. The Pelicans (29-41) have split their previous ten games and hold a 2.5 game lead for tenth place in the West. On Friday, New Orleans raced out to a 25-point lead after one quarter and cruised to a 124-91 road triumph against San Antonio.
New Orleans G C.J. McCollum tallied a game-high 20 points on 8-for-19 shooting and pulled down four boards. Jonas Valanciunas contributed 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Pelicans.
The Atlanta Hawks are ten games above .500 at home and are tied with Charlotte for ninth place in the East. On Friday, Atlanta built a 19-point halftime lead and were never threatened during the second half of a 120-105 home victory versus Memphis. The Hawks (35-35) knocked down 13-for-28 from long distance and shot 50 percent overall.
Bogdan Bogdanovic led all scorers with 30 points on 9-for-15 from the field in 30 minutes off the bench. Clint Capela and Delon Wright chipped in 18 points apiece for the Hawks.
