The Toyota Center will play host to a Wednesday night NBA clash between the Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets.

The Nets are a game below .500 overall and have emerged as legitimate playoff contenders in the East. On Monday, Brooklyn outscored Boston by 23 points during the third quarter of a 109-102 victory. The Nets scored 44 points during the decisive quarter and out rebounded the Celtics by a 59-51 margin on the night.

D’Angelo Russell led Brooklyn with 34 points to go along with seven assists and five rebounds. Jarrett Allen contributed 19 points and 13 rebounds for the Nets. The Houston Rockets have won 16 of their 22 home games and are led by reigning MVP James Harden (34.8 ppg). On Monday, Houston outscored visiting Memphis by 11 points during the third quarter to pull away for a 112-94 victory. The Rockets forced 24 turnovers and connected on 18-for-48 from the three-point line.

James Harden poured in a season high 57 points and missed just one if his 18 free throw attempts. Gerald Green chipped in 14 points and six rebounds in 30 minutes off the Houston bench.

Houston C Clint Capela has ligament damage in his left thumb and will miss the next 4-6 weeks of action. These two teams rank in the bottom half of the league in defensive efficiency and shoot the three-ball well. Take the over on Wednesday.
