NBA Summer League Best Bets Tuesday 7/12/22 - NBA Picks & Predictions

The NBA Summer League continues Tuesday with seven games across the board. With a host of elite draft picks and undrafted free agents playing Tuesday will bring a loaded day of action.

 

Chicago Bulls Vs. Toronto Raptors, TOR -3 ; O/U 176.5

The Chicago Bulls come into Tuesday afternoon 1-1 this summer following a blowout 32 point loss to the New York Knicks last game out. Chicago was horrendous on the offensive side of the ball making 37.1% of their shots and 23.1% from beyond the arc, while turning the ball over 22 times in the loss. Carlik Jones and Dalen Terry were the only real bright spots for Chicago pouring in 13 points each. The Toronto Raptors are 1-0 thus far following a 20 point blowout win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday. The Toronto defense was lights out holding Philadelphia to 40.3% from the floor and 35.7% from beyond the arc as Philadelphia scored only 77 points in the game. Armoni Brooks shined for Toronto scoring a team high 25 points in 27 minutes off the bench. Toronto is by far the better team in this matchup and that trend will continue to show on Tuesday. Look for Toronto to control this game from the opening tip with a deeper more talented roster leading to their second win of the summer.

Memphis Grizzlies Vs. Brooklyn Nets, BKN -2.5 ; O/U 171.5

The Memphis Grizzlies come into Tuesday following their first win of the summer after a seven point victory over Minnesota. Defensively Memphis played well holding Minnesota 34.8% shooting and forced 22 turnovers lead to the victory. Santi Aldama had a breakout game for Memphis with a team high 22 points on 11 of 22 shooting. Much like Memphis Brooklyn comes into Tuesday after their first victory of the season against Philadelphia. Offensively Brooklyn was the better team making 43.3% of their shots and scored 91 points in the game including 47 in the second half to pull away. Cam Thomas was the difference for Brooklyn with 26 points in 31 minutes on the floor. This will be one of the better matchups of the day on Tuesday as both teams match up very well. Memphis has the slight edge with a size advantage that will be the difference. Take Memphis to do just enough on Tuesday to win and cover the small number.

Atlanta Hawks Vs. Miami Heat

The Atlanta Hawks come into Tuesday afternoon 0-1 this summer following a 72-66 loss against the Utah Jazz. Offensively Atlanta had a disappointing start to the summer shooting only 32.9% from the floor in 21.4% from beyond the arc, while turning the ball over 12 times in the loss to Utah. Chaundree Brown Jr. was the only bright spot for the Atlanta offense scoring 15 points as the only starter in double figures. The Miami Heat come into Tuesday undefeated at 1-0 this summer after their defense carried them to an 88-78 win over the Boston Celtics. Defensively Miami was dominant holding Boston to 35.4% from the floor and 31.4% from beyond the arc. Miami relied heavily on Mychal Mulder on offense as he poured in a team leading 23 points in the game. The Miami Heat are the better team in this matchup, and it will show from the opening tip. The Miami defense will stifle Atlanta carrying Miami to the wind improving their record to 2-0.

Celtics Vs. Warriors

An NBA Finals rematch will see the Boston Celtics take on the Golden State Warriors Tuesday afternoon in Las Vegas. Boston comes into Tuesday winless thus far following a 10 point loss to Miami in their first game. Offensively Boston was horrendous scoring only 78 points on 35.4% shooting from the floor. Matt Ryan was the biggest threat for the Boston offense scoring 15 points on four of eight shooting from the floor. The Golden State Warriors come into Tuesday following their first victory of the summer a one point win over San Antonio. The Golden State offense did just enough making 42.7% of their shots to score 86 points including 52 in the second half to squeak out with the win. Jonathan Kuminga shined for Golden State pouring in 28 points on 10 of 22 shooting in 26 minutes on the floor, while Mac McClung added 22 points as well. The Golden State Warriors are the deeper and more talented team in this matchup and that will be the difference on Tuesday. Take Golden State to roll past Boston leading to the wind in Las Vegas.

Detroit Pistons Vs. Indiana Pacers, IND -1 ; O/U 174.5

The Detroit Pistons come into Tuesday 2-0 this summer after a six point victory over the Washington Wizards. The Detroit offense was lights out against Washington making 55% of their shots and 48.3% from beyond the arc to score 105 total points against Washington. Rookie Isaiah Livers led the way for Detroit with twenty points on five of eight shooting in 30 minutes on the floor, while lottery pick Jalen Duren added 13 points and six rebounds in 26 minutes as well. The Indiana Pacers continue their summer league action Tuesday following their first loss after falling by seven points to the Sacramento Kings. Defensively Indiana struggled as Sacramento made 49.3% of their shots and 43.9% from beyond the arc to pick up the victory Terry Taylor led all scorers for Indiana with 16 points and seven rebounds. The Detroit Pistons are undefeated this summer due in large part to all their success on draft night. Detroit has the deeper more talented roster that will carry the load leading to a victory on Tuesday.

Los Angeles Lakers Vs. Los Angeles Clipper, LAC -3.5 ; O/U 170.5

Much like the regular season the Los Angeles Lakers come into Tuesday struggling this summer with an 0-2 following a 3 point double overtime loss to Charlotte last game out. Offensively the Lakers shot the ball well making 40% of their shots and 32.3% from beyond the arc but turned the ball over 15 times in the loss. Cole Swider led the way for Los Angeles with 21 points on six of 10 shooting. The Los Angeles Clippers come into Tuesday playing well following an 18 point blowout win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Offensively Los Angeles was dominant making 41.9% of their shots and 39.3% from beyond the arc to score 94 total points including 52 in the first half. Reggie Perry was the offensive leader for Los Angeles with 17 points on six of nine shooting. The Los Angeles Clippers are the better team, and it will show on Tuesday. The Clippers have a deeper roster that will overwhelm a struggling Lakers team leading to their second win of the summer.
