The NBA Summer League is up and running as elite draft picks compete with undrafted free agents looking to make their mark on the league. Despite only 6 games on the board Monday the Summer League will bring a loaded day of action!
New Orleans Pelicans vs Atlanta Hawks, NO -5 ; O/U 173.5
Both teams come into game two of the summer league winless thus far as each team lost in their first game. New Orleans struggled immensely shooting only 27.5% from the floor and 12.9% from beyond the arc, while turning the ball over 15 times in the loss. Trey Murphy III was the biggest bright spot for the New Orleans offense pouring in a team leading 23 points in 30 minutes. The Atlanta Hawks were completely lost in game one of the summer league shooting 32.9% and 21.4% from beyond the arc to score only 66 points in the game. Charlie Brown Jr. led the Atlanta offense as the only starter in double figures with 15 points. Both teams struggled immensely to open this summer, but New Orleans is the better team in this matchup with a more potent offense that will shine through Monday night in route to their first win of the summer.

Rockets vs Spurs
The Houston Rockets match up with the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night following a two point win over Oklahoma City last came out. Josh Christopher led the way for the Houston offense with 19 points and nine rebounds in 28 minutes on the floor. Number three overall pick jabari Smith Jr. proved he is an NBA talent with 12 points and nine rebounds in 31 minutes of action. The San Antonio Spurs come into Monday winless following a nine point loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Joshua Primo led the way for the Spurs offense with twenty points on seven of 12 shooting in 29 minutes on the floor. Blake Wesley chipped in 20 points as well and first round pick Malaki Branham added 15 points in 28 minutes to round out the San Antonio scoring. The Houston Rockets have a deeper more experienced team that will shine through on Monday. Look for the experience of Houston and their top draft pick to overwhelm San Antonio leading to the win on Monday.

Milwaukee Bucks vs Boston Celtics, MIL -2.5 ; O/U 175.5
The Milwaukee Bucks come into game two of the summer league undefeated following a 94-90 win over the Brooklyn Nets in game one. Milwaukee used their depth and experience to get past Brooklyn as Sandro Mamueklasvili led the way for the Bucks with 17 points in 28 minutes. The Boston Celtics didn’t fare as well as Milwaukee in game one of the summer league suffering a 10 point loss to Miami. Rookie JD Davison played well scoring 10 points in 29 minutes and Matt Ryan chipped in 15 points to lead the way off the bench. Milwaukee has a distinct advantage in this game with their experience and size. Look for Milwaukee to overwhelm a young Boston team leading to a 2-0 start in the summer league.

Orlando Magic vs. Oklahoma City Thunder, ORL -2 ; O/U 178.5
The Orlando Magic come into Monday as one of the better teams in the summer league at 2-0 following a sudden death double overtime victory last game out. #1 pick Paolo Banchero is leading the way for Orlando averaging 20 points and 5 rebounds through the first 2 wins of the summer. The Oklahoma City Thunder lost by two points to the Houston Rockets last game out after allowing Houston to shoot 42.5% from the floor to score 90 in the game number two overall pick Chet Holmgren struggled against Houston going 3-10 from the floor to score 12 points but turned the ball over four times as well. The Orlando Magic looked to be one of the best teams in the summer league and will continue to roll on Monday. Look for the number one overall pick to continue to lead his team as Orlando will continue their undefeated stretch.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Utah Jazz, UT -1.5 ; O/U 174.5
The Dallas Mavericks come into Monday following a one point overtime loss to the Chicago Bulls. Offensively Dallas shot the ball well making 42.9% of their shots and 30% from beyond the arc but turned the ball over 15 times in the last. Aj Lawson and Jaden Hardy shined in the Dallas offense pouring in 28 points apiece. The Utah Jazz come into Monday following a 72-66 win over the Atlanta Hawks to get things going in Las Vegas. Jared Butler carried the offensive load for Utah with 15 points and seven assists on 6 of 11 shooting. Big man Kofi Cockburn added in six points and 13 rebounds off the bench. Despite the loss Dallas is the more rounded and complete team in this game and it will show on Monday. Look for the high scoring Dallas guards to be the difference as The Mavericks will pick up the win on Monday.

New York Knicks vs. Portland Trailblazers
The New York Knicks come into Monday 2-0 following a 32 point blowout win of the Chicago Bulls on Sunday. New York shot 51.4% from the floor and 32.3% from beyond the arc to score 101 points in game two of the summer league. Quentin Grimes carried the load for the New York offense with 24 points and four assists in 23 minutes on the floor. The Portland Trail Blazers come into Monday following their first win of the summer due to an offensive explosion. Portland shot 42.3% from the floor in their last game to score 85 total points. Trendon Watford led the way for the Portland offense with 17 points and 11 rebounds in 31 minutes of action. The New York Knicks are undefeated due in large part to their talent and depth this summer. Look for New York to control this game Monday night leading to their third win improving to 3-0.
